The sheer numbers are just staggering and that is just the main reason why businesses need a website. The internet is here to stay and if you are not in it, you are literally nowhere

The mobile phone is the another device that has also changed the way we live and its referred to as the most powerful and influential gadget of the 21st century.

Currently, more people use smartphones to surf the web than computers

People who live even in the most remote corners of the earth (like the north pole) can connect with anyone at any time with the rest of the world. This used to be the stuff of science fiction not so long ago.

Surprisingly, many businesses still operate without a website and especially small businesses. Many people tend to imagine that setting up a website is a complicated affair. Nothing can be further from the truth.

The days when websites were built by writing complex coding are long gone. This website is built in WordPress. It may surprise you but took me a relatively short time to learn how to do this

The beauty of that is that every content that you upload on your website will be there for life.It makes it easy to go back and forth reviewing what you have already done and improving on those areas that need to. It also makes it easy for potential customers to dig for information without necessarily having to call you up.

    Small businesses have the potential to compete on the same level as the big boys since the internet has no boundaries.Everyone has an equal shot at success in internet marketing and so you don’t need to worry about getting swallowed up by big businesses because you too have the same tools they used to rise to the top

  1. I think small business that doesn’t tap on the power of internet is going to lose out eventually. I learnt this the hard way when running an electronics manufacturing firm. I relied on mouth to mouth referrals. We can’t rely on a single source of leads. A website, properly done is a 24 hour lead generation machine for small businesses.

Your article made me smile right at the beginning when you mentioned the yellow pages and how far we have come. That’s very true! If I was to mention the yellow pages to my son, he would think I was crazy(he’s 11)! But yes, it is amazing how far we have come. Going back just a few years ago I could never have imagined owning my own website. But yet like yourself, I now own a site and run it myself. As you say, it’s not rocket science and I think as things evolve it will only get easier. I recently built a website for a friend who has his own local business and its really increased his revenue.

Everyone who is running a business and still doesn’t have internet website should realize that we are living in 21 century, the internet is extremely powerful, and it’s a great way to advertise your business.
