If you are reading this review, there is a likelihood that someone might have approached you with the Jeunesse Global business opportunity and you just want to check out the facts. Or maybe you just joined and want to know whether you are treading on the right path.
When it comes to network marketing, you’ll agree, there isn’t a more potent ground for earning handsome commissions than in the cosmetology realm. After all, most women- and some men ? will stop at nothing to earn the tag of ‘most beautiful’or at least hold longer to their youthful looks.
May I first start by stating that I am not a distributor with Jeunesse and so I am not going to be asking you to whip out your credit card for your dream to success. This review is based on my own research and the aim is to help you make an independent decision on whether to join, stay put or bail out if you are already in the business. The decision is entirely up to you.
So what is the Jeunesse business all about?
Well lets find out , shall we.
September 09, 2009 at 9:00 p.m. is the exact time that it all began. Founded by Randy Ray and Wendy Lewis, the company manufactures and distributes a full range of health, skin care, and fitness products through a multilevel system. According to the Randy and Wendy, their mission is to help people reach their full potential in youthful looks, healthy living, and embracing life.
The number 9, apparently represents longevity, hence the dramatic launch of their company on 09/09/2009 at 9.00 pm. The company has its headquarters in Altamonte Springs, Florida and employs just under 500 people.
Luminecse is the company’s flagship product. This is what will keep you ageless. The product is designed using the adult stem cell technology and apparently fights ageing at the DNA level. Through the use of the revolutionary peptide, argireline, the makers of Jeunesse Instantly Ageless were able to create an effective micro cream that works like botox, but without the needles.
Its not hard to see why the product is such a quick hit. Distributors will normally demonstrate the product to potential clients (sales people in waiting) by applying the cream and after 3 minutes of staying motionless, your wrinkles magically disappear.
Other products on their range are;
- AM and PM essentials – The PM essential is meant to be taken before going to bed and the aim is to help you sleep better by use of a natural ingredient like melanin. The AM essential on the other as you might have guessed is to help you wake up.
- Reserve – This is a dose of a power antioxidant that comes in a liquid filled sachet. Drink it up to kill radicals in your body that cause disease.
- Finiti – This is just a multivitamin supplement but apparently unlike whatever else you get out there, this one purports to protect your DNA by targeting an enzyme called telomerase.
The company also a range of other nutritional supplements that help the body in developing healthy radiant skin. Add weight management products for before and after workout sessions and you will look and feel like a million dollars!
Like all good Mlms, there must be a compensation plan otherwise what would be the point? This is the bait that attracts consultants to join the business. It’s all about the commission you make for sales and recruiting others to join you. And of course, there are travel incentives to top performing members. That is also very typical of most MLMs.
Unlike many other MLMs, the commissions with Jeunesse are pretty sweet. Anywhere between 20 to 45% . Preferred customers also receive a commission a 10 to 20% when they join their autoship program.
To be eligible for compensation you have to meet a monthly target of $85 in sales.
I am not a big fan of explaining how compensation plans work, so I will just let this guy give you a whiteboard presentation to show you what’s up. Please note that I am not endorsing this video. Its only for presentation purposes.
The good and bad
Normally, every business opportunity has the bright and dull side that everyone involved in has to come to terms with. For the good, this is a plus while the bad is what determines whether to remain in the game or call it a day. Here are the two sides of the coin when it comes to the Jeunesse business opportunity.
What I like
- They have an easy to follow website that clearly explains what they do.
- Some of their products are reasonably priced.
- They have an attractive compensation plan
What I don’t.
- This is an MLM. You are in the recruiting business. Expect to hit on a lot of your friends and family for the opportunity of a lifetime.
- Monthly targets to remain within the program.
- No proof that some of the products are as effective as purpotted.
Jenesse seems like a pretty decent company with good products.
It is not a pyramid scheme like some people would claim. It’s just one among the hundreds of cosmetic based multi-level marketing businesses that exist out there. Other companies within this niche are Mary Kay and Nu-skin.
Let’s talk about the biz for moment.
I have been involved in network marketing before and I know how the game plays out. Network marketing by its very nature is a legit way of doing business and people succeed big time in the business. In fact there are millionaires in this industry.
So why did I leave if there is such huge potential.
Because it is all about recruiting, recruiting and recruiting . Seldom do people even talk about the products. That’s because no one makes money just by selling products. People have spent thousands of dollars in stock hoping to sell it for a profit only to realise that everyone else is selling the same product more or less. That’s why you can buy some of these products on Amazon or ebay.
I was also tired of the cult like culture that most consultants find themselves in. It ‘s just weird.
There is an narrative that network marketing companies use and that is to pitch their products as magical or the next big thing. Until I see proof, I am not buying into it. With Luminecse, I believe it’s a temporary fix to wrinkles. You will get great shots for your Facebook profile. Ageing is not something you can exactly stop or even reverse.
We now have MLMs embracing social media as a way to market their products.
Even though it can be more effective than reaching out to your warm market, most people go about it by spamming social media accounts to promote their business. It’s not really a long term way of building a business. Its also very intrusive.
The other option is to build an authority website that can be found organically through search engines (same way you found this page). That will speak volumes to the masses out there which is what I would recommend.
Many people fail in this form of business because it is by no means easy as they are led to believe. In fact, less than 1% of all the people who join multi-level marketing businesses succeed.
The very nature of multi-level marketing is shrouded in a lot of misconceptions and controversy. I can understand why. You are not really giving people an opportunity to make money. It’s more like reaping the benefits out of their hard work.
In the years I have been in the marketing industry I have come to appreciate the fact that the only way you can make money selling products is by having your own website. Not one that has been provided for you but one you have built from the ground up. You don’t even need to spend money to own one. Why run around chasing after people to join your opportunity and yet you can reach the billions of people who are connected on the internet today.
If you belong to the 99…% plus number of the people trying desperately to make money recruiting people to their business, how about you check out how I make money online without having to recruit. Might turn out to be the smartest decision you have ever made in your life.
