Hi and welcome to my Isagenix review. Someone might have approached you with the opportunity that is the Team Beachbody business. Or perhaps you came across it on social media.
May I first start by stating that I am not a consultant with Isagenix and so I am not going to be asking you to whip out your credit card for your dream to success.
It’s good you are doing your research. With all the business opportunities floating around this days, it’s good to do due diligence and learn what is expected of you before committing yourself to any business.
This review is based on my own research and the aim is to help you make an independent decision on whether to join, stay on if you are already a member or bail out. The decision is entirely up to you.
So just what is the Isagenix business opportunity? Is it a scam or legit? Can you make some serious money?
No doubt you want some things cleared. Well, let’s find out, shall we.
Company Name: Isagenix
Owner: Jim and Kathy Coover
Weight loss is a multi billion industry and for that very reason, there is no shortage of companies in the market claiming to have the ultimate solution for those looking to lose those extra kilos.
Being overweight is a unhealthy, and it can lead to numerous health related problems like diabetes and even heart disease especially as we grow older.
But what if there was a magical product that one can use to overcome overweight challenges and also earn some extra cash on the side. Wouldn’t that be great.
Isagenix claims to have a product range that is mainly composed of shakes that used correctly can help you lose weight. According to their website Isagenix’s line of long-term health and fitness solutions promise to help you achieve a balanced weight, train harder and recover faster, age gracefully, and boost overall wellness.
Besides that, you also have an opportunity to make money by becoming a product distributor
Founded in 2002 by Jim and Kathy Coover, Isagenix distributes its products through a multi-level marketing system through independent distributors.
Whether it works or not is something we will discuss further down in this article.
As I was doing my research, I was impressed to see that there are heaps of positive reviews on the effectiveness of the products. A lot of people seem to agree that Isagenix has great products.
They do enjoy an A+ Rating with BBB.org but like you would expect of such businesses, there will always be complaints form those who are not happy with the business itself or the products.
As I mentioned the main products within the Isagenix range are shakes and edibles. They have also moved into the essential oils industry and have a range of products that you can ingest, diffuse or apply.
I will not go into their whole product range since its readily available on their website. I will just touch on their most popular product and that is the 30 day weight loss system. These pack which you buy for $378.50 comes with the following
- Isalean Shakes: Whey- This are milk-protein-based meal replacement shakes that contain 240 calories and 24 grams of protein (along with many other ingredients).
- Ionix Supreme: A tonic that contains a blend of sweeteners, vitamins and adaptogens that is advertised to speed muscle recovery, “support clarity and focus, and “normalize the body’s systems.”
- Cleanse for Life: A liquid blend of sweeteners, vitamins and herbs claimed to “nourish the body’s detoxification system” and “eliminate stubborn fat.”
- Isagenix Snacks: Chewable, flavored tablets made of sweeteners, milk-based protein and other ingredients.
- Natural Accelerator: Capsules that contain a blend of vitamins and herbs that are supposed to help dieters “boost metabolism and burn fat.”
- Hydrate Sticks: A powder meant to be mixed into water that contains sweeteners, electrolytes and more vitamins.
- IsaFlush: A supplement containing a form of magnesium and a blend of herbs purported to improve digestion and “support a healthy gut.”
The 30 weight loss system comes in both dairy and non dairy products.Products are consumed on alternating days where you have shake days and cleanse days.
On Shake days you have to replace to mills a day with Isalean shakes and have a healthy meal containing between 400-500 calories
On Cleanse days you do away with meals all together and just take their Cleanse for life drink. You can also have fruits or vegetables that they recommend
How it works
I can see why this Isagenix products would be hit. Changing and watching what you eat bring tremendous health improvements to your body.
To be able to purchase their products you can either sign in as a customer where you only buy the products for yourself and family or you can become an associate.
Becoming an associates is how you make money and to cut a long story short we are talking about recruiting others into the business. Sure enough you can make money by reselling the products, but no one makes money in multi level marketing by reselling products.
It’s all about building a team. The bigger your team the more the money.
Pros and cons
With all business opportunities one has to look at both sides of the coin. Most people go into Mlms without really looking deep to see whether they are cut out for it .
I was an Amway distributor years ago, and I must say there are some highly successful consultants in the MLM industry. Yes, you can become successful in this business. That is the good news.
The bad news is you are most likely to fail. I know that can be interpreted by some diehards as loser but the true fact is a very tiny portion of Mlm consultants make a decent income. Most people will just be hanging on the edge hoping to get that one downline who will catapult their business.
This is the recruiting business. Before you can find success, be sure to hit on every person you know or perhaps don’t with the opportunity. I am sure you can understand just how difficult that can be.
You never know who will catch bait, right?
As is the case with all MLMs, there must be a compensation plan otherwise what would be the point? This is the bait that attracts people to join the business. It’s all about the commissions you make for sales and recruiting others to join you.
I will not go into much detail because things tend to get very complicated when you go into all the nitty gritty of compensation plans.
Check out this 14 minute video from Jim Coover. He is best placed to explain it to you. Please note that I am not endorsing this video. It’s only for presentation purposes.
The Mlm narrative.
There is a narrative that network marketing companies use and that is to pitch their products as magical or the next big thing. I am sure you if you shop around, you can find a similar range of high quality products in the market that are just as good if not better and most likely cheaper. Why should I choose one over the other?
The compensation plan of course. It’s the fuel that keeps the business going.
People now use Social media as a way of reaching out to potential recruits.
It can be more effective than reaching out to random people on the streets. Unfortunately, most people go about it by spamming social media accounts to promote their business.
It’s not really a long term way of building a business. It’s also very intrusive.
Unsolicited marketing info coming on your timeline especially from people you may know is just plain irritating.
People fail in this form of business because it is by no means easy as they are led to believe. According to The Balance Small Business, less than 1% of all people who join multi-level marketing businesses succeed.
Mary Kay once described the business as filling your bathtub with the sinkhole open. Most people will be gone once they realize just how difficult the business is. The fall out rate is massive.
You may be asking, so how come these companies seem to turn out such huge profits? Good question.
Most of them have very low overheads. They don’t need to advertise. That is why they give you a cut from sales and recruiting. At the very bottom of it, you will be doing all the donkey work for them.
The whole model of the multi-level marketing business is also shrouded in a lot of misconceptions and controversy. I can understand why. You are not really giving people an opportunity to make money. It’s more like reaping the benefits out of their hard work.
I think that is a very sleazy way of doing business. If you are just joining the Isagenix business, just remember that you are in for the ride of your life. Good luck!
I would say Isagenix is a great company that has lived up to its word as a far as its products are concerned.
It’s certainly a great business for those who have the energy for recruiting.
I am not much of a nutritional expert but if you are trying to get your body in shape, do really need to buy expensive products.
I believe changing your daily eating habits and incorporating exercise in your routine can give you the results that you are looking for. Some of the complaint I have heard from people is that the products don’t work since they haven’t lost much weight.
You are not going to lose much if you keep falling off the bandwagon by throwing in a cheese burger in the works.
As far as cleansing your body of toxins goes, your liver and kidneys can do that job for you. Whenever I feel like I need to detox, I normally go on a 2 week program
Week 1: Fast for 48 hours, drinking nothing but water. You will be totally starved after that 2 day period, but your liver will have drained your body of most impurities.
Eat nothing, else but vegetables and fruits for next 5 days.
Week 2: Introduce carbohydrates in your diet to boost your energy. Do that for 7 days. no meat or dairy products.
That works for me all the time. You will be feeling great after those 2 weeks. Why spend a fortune on something you can do naturally.
That being said, Isagenix is not a pyramid scheme like some people would claim. With pyramid schemes, the last guy always emerges on the other end with nothing.
Opinion is always divided as to whether this sort of businesses are scams or not. I suppose it all comes down to who is making money and who is not. Most people who don’t make it will be crying foul while those who succeed will be accusing the losers of lacking the patience to grow the business.
As I mentioned, I have been involved in network marketing before and I know how the game plays out. Network marketing by its very nature is a legit way of doing business and people succeed big time in it. In fact, there are millionaires in the industry.
I left the business because it was all about recruiting. There are also some very deceptive tactics like inviting people for a meeting, party or dinner without telling them what its all about, and then springing the opportunity on them. That is the easiest way to lose friends.
Seldom do people even talk about the products. That’s because no one makes money just by selling products. Are you ready to start dragging your friends, colleagues and relatives to those hyped up meetings. If you are, well, good luck again.
Can you build a business without recruiting
Many people who become successful online marketers probably have been through some sort of multi level marketing. In the years I have been in marketing industry I have come to appreciate the fact that the only way you can make money selling products is by having your own website.
The great thing is that you don’t even need to own the products to earn commissions with a website. And neither do you need to spend money to own one. This website generates me a consistent income without the stress of chasing after people. In fact people come to me.
Why run around chasing after people to join your opportunity and yet you can reach the billions of people who are connected on the internet today.
If you belong to the 99% + number of the people trying desperately to make money recruiting people to their business, how about you check out how I make money online without having to recruit.
MLMs are a waste of time. Some people will tell you not to listen to naysayers like me, but you really need to ask yourself whether you stand a chance.
Many thanks for reading my review. If you have a question or a comment on the Isagenix business opportunity, please leave it below. I would love to hear from you.
