Hi and welcome to my Pure Haven review. I would imagine you are here because you might be thinking of becoming a distributor with this company. Or maybe you are already in and just want to learn a bit more in regards to the business side of it.
First I must say its good that you are doing your research. The last thing you want to do is invest your hard-earned money in a business opportunity only for you to end up frustrated.
What is Pure Haven all about and can you make some good money with this business? Well, let’s find out, shall we?
- Company Name: Pure Haven
- Website: purehaven.com
- Costs: $99
- Owner: Bruce Jensen
- Rating: 6.3/10
What is Pure Haven?
The beauty industry continues to grow in leaps and bounds and is currently valued at 532 billion dollars. With such huge figures, multi-level marketing companies have been trying to get a piece of the action.
One such company is Pure Haven. The company sells a range of cosmetics, personal care, and cleaning products through independent distributors
They have had quite a history. The company started off as Ava Anderson Non-Toxic in 2009 with Ava Anderson as the head of the company. She was just 14 years old at the time.
In 2013, there was a scandal that arose regarding the companies claim of non-toxic products.
Ava claimed that its products were organic and had no toxic chemicals in them. But multiple investigations by the USDA revealed that there were actually toxic chemicals in their products. Apparently they were lying.
She claimed that she was being bullied and I suppose she could not handle the pressure anymore. This culminated in Global Ventures Partners which is owned by Bruce Jensen, buying the company form Ava for an undisclosed amount.
Joe Ochoa was appointed CEO of Pure Haven in May 2016. They are now a legit USDA Organic Certified company.
Pure Haven is based out of Rhode Island in the US.
Pure Haven products
Pure Haven offers a range of non-toxic cosmetics, personal care, and cleaning products made from ingredients that are known to be free of harmful chemicals, known carcinogens, and endocrine disruptors.
They do have an impressive collection. I was able to count 82 different products on their website.
Some of the product categories featured on their website include:
- Skin Essentials
- Body Essentials
- Hair Essentials
- Baby Essentials
- Kid’s Essentials

How does Pure Haven work?
To become a Pure Haven consultant you will need to pay $99, which gives you the Pure Havens Business Kit.
There are two main ways one can generate an income as a Pure Haven consultant.
- Earn commissions through retail product sales.
- Earn commissions when those who join under you and recruit other new members.
That is just how most MLMs work. Number 2 is where the real money lies. If you can build a large team below you, you can expect to start making some really good income. There are also bonus rewards that are paid depending on how large your team is.
To qualify for MLM commissions a Pure Haven Essentials affiliate must generate $300 in product purchase or sales every month.
The commissions paid on products are actually quite decent. You can earn anywhere between 30% to 50% in retail commissions.
Can you make money with Pure Haven
That really comes down to how good you are at closing sales. Some people are good at it, most are not.
I have met people who have made a lot of money with MLMs. To get there, you will need to become a recruiting machine. How many people within your circle would be willing to join your business?
The answer to that is obvious. Few if any. People just dont want to be dragged into a business that is solely built on recruiting others these days.
For starters, the company pays good commissions to consultants. Up to 50% is way more than what other MLMs offer.
The fact that they were given a clean bill of health by the USDA means you can trust that their products are as good as they say. It is also good that they have such a large collection of products. It is easier to sell products when there is variety.
Are You Looking For a Way to Earn Passive Income
Without Having to Recruit?
One thing that caught my attention is the limited information that the company has on its website. It does not mention who owns the company or how it came to be. I think businesses should be as transparent as possible. It builds a sense of belonging to its customers.
The other problem I see with this business is the amount of completion it faces. There are hundreds of companies out there selling more or less similar products. Some of the are giants like Mary Kay and Avon who have been around for ages. Consumers are spoilt for choice. Not many people will readily buy a product just because a friend recommended it.
People are very loyal to their brands.
Is Pure Haven a Scam?
Not even close.
A lot of people are skeptical about joining MLMs due to the recruiting nature of the business. As long as a company has a product or service behind it, you cannot brand it a scam.
Scams, particularly pyramid schemes, tend to take money out of your pocket using deceptive means. In most cases, they sell you an endless story of investing your money in nothing to grow your money.
Most people at the bottom end up losing everything before the top dogs disappear and then reappear with a new scheme.
Pure Haven actually strikes as a very decent company with great products.
To most people, this might not be a very viable option to grow a business.
And by most, I mean the majority.
I was a former network marketer and aside from being a real pain to everyone I approached to join my business I spent a lot of money and never got to recruit even one person.
I might have approached over 300 people. Some of them were clearly not happy about it.
I had to face the facts. Was I really building a business or was I just helping someone else make their money?
Truth be told you are not really running a business. The people running the business are the people whose products or services you are selling. They dictate what you sell, price, and what you make for it. If you owned the business, you would have a say in that.
When you look at what it entails to host your friends, drive for appointments, attend meetings, etc you will agree that it doesn’t tally with what you will be making. All that talk about the business is easy and how anyone can do it is nothing but hot air.
The fact is, most people suck at selling.
According to this article on Wikipedia, over 99% of people who join MLM companies lose money. That is a big number. And yet people keep joining MLMs. The prospect of making money is always very tempting especially when people tell you its super easy.
I hate to burst your bubble but the odds are heavily against you.
Are there better alternatives to Pure Haven?
I would say one of the most effective and long term ways to make money selling products or services is through your own website.
Best of all you don’t need to recruit. People need to come to you. How about you check out how I make money online without having to recruit.
No need to run around chasing after people to join your opportunity. There are billions of people connected on the internet today. You just need to put yourself in front of that audience.
This review is by no means meant to discourage you from joining or staying on with Pure Haven. If you feel you have what it takes then, by all means, go for it. If you don’t, just remember to keep your options open.
Many thanks for reading my review. If you have a question or a comment on the Pure Haven business opportunity, please leave it below. I would love to hear from you.
