Hi and welcome to my LifeVantage review. I would imagine if you are reading this you are probably thinking of becoming a distributor. Or maybe you have already joined as a member and just want to find out if it’s the business for you.
First I must say its good that you are doing your research. The last thing you want to do is invest your hard-earned money in a business opportunity only for you to end up high and dry.
What is LifeVantage all about and can you make some good money with this opportunity? Well, let’s find out, shall we?
- Company Name: LifeVantage
- Website: lifevantage.com
- Costs: Starting at $50
- Founder: Dave S. Manovich
What is LifeVantage?
Is there such a product that can reverse or delay the aging process. It appears that as long as a problem exists, there is a multi-level marketing solution for it. And, yes there is that magic formulation that makes it all possible.
Personally I wouldn’t call growing old a problem. Everyone grows old and dies eventually. However, if you want to hang on to your youthful looks, LifeVantage might just be what you are looking for. Protandim is what makes them stand out from the rest of the crowd. I will talk about that in the course of this article
There is also the term Biohacking
According to their website, they state as follows;
Biohacking is taking full control of your biology. If you’ve pursued ways to improve your health, that’s biohacking. But, it’s more than just putting butter in your coffee every morning or taking a daily vitamin. Biohacking is the desire to understand the body and mind you’ve been given and using everything at your disposal — cutting-edge technology, tools, and science — to become the best version of yourself.
That is deep!
Founded in 2003 by Dave S. Manovich, LifeVantage sells anti-aging products through independent consultants.
The company’s history goes a little further back to 1988. They used to sell their products through retail branches under the name LifeLine Therapeutics, Lifeline Nutraceuticals, and Yaak River Resources, Inc.
Years later they took the MLM route and rebranded to LifeVantage. The MLM proved to be more profitable and today the company is public-listed and traded.
LifeVantage is accredited and has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. They are based out of Bennington, Nebraska.
LifeVantage develops nutraceutical products, including Protandim which is their flagship product. The companies products leverage the company’s expertise and are intended to deliver significant health benefits to consumers.
Let’s talk about Protandim which the company has patented. Apparently, it’s designed to help reduce oxidative stress by 40 percent in 30 days. LifeVantage regards Protandim as an NRF2 aviator.
Don’t stress about all the technical jargon.
Basically, Protandim is a herbal mixture marketed by Lifeline as an “anti-aging” supplement that increases the body’s antioxidant defenses.
Here are the ingredients within the product;
- Milk thistle extract (225 mg)
- Bacopa extract (150 mg)
- Ashwagandha (150 mg)
- Green tea extract (75 mg)
- Turmeric extract (75 mg)
All these products occur naturally and can be found in different products or even as single packaged products. I think it’s absurd to take different products, package them into one capsule and call it your own invention.
There have been numerous court cases as to who really invented Protandim. I will not go into the details but I can tell you things got a bit messy at one stage.
In 2017, LifeVantage was issued a warning letter by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding illegal advertising claims on the company’s websites suggesting that Protandim can help to cure various ailments, including cancer and diabetes.
Protandim is also available for canines. Yap. Your dog also has a shot at living longer!
Moving on here are some of their other products
- TrueScience (Beauty) – A series of skincare products which include facial cleanser, perfection lotion, eye serum and, anti-aging cream.
- PhysIQ (Fitness) – Supplements that help you lose weight, burn fat and supplement protein.
- AXIO (Energy) – Energy drink that claims to help you not just for your physical body, but also for your brain to increase focus, clarity, concentration, and alertness.
How does LifeVantage work?
To become a consultant with LifeVantage, you will need to purchase a starter kit for $50. This kit only gives the training material you need to start your business.
However, to get your business up and rolling you will need to purchase one of the four product packages;
- Silver ($350) – 20% savings
- Gold Pack ($650) – 25% savings
- Gold Performance Pack ($650) – 25% savings
- Platinum ($1,250) – 30% savings
As you can see the more you buy the more you save and the more you can expect to make in retail commissions.
Like most MLMs, commissions are earned when you resell the product or by recruiting others to join the business.

Can you make money with LifeVantage?
I would say yes you can. I have personally met a few highly successful network marketers. They all had one thing in common. These are people who are not afraid of hitting on every Tom, Dick, and Harry with a business proposal.
Network marketing is a numbers game. The more people you can get through the door the better for you.
That being said, the harsh reality when it comes to making money with network marketing is that it’s not as easy as a lot of people are lead to believe. People don’t like being sold stuff and most people suck at making sales.
I haven’t use the products but there are very many positive reviews about how great the products are. Turmeric, Green tea, ashwagandha, and Bacopa are all known to have tremendous health benefits so it’s nothing new here.
I believe the people who consume Protandim would still feel the same way if they were to use the same ingredients in other products or by themselves.
Your body will feel better and more energetic. It does not mean you are aging less or prolonging your life. Just like applying anti-aging facial creams does not mean you are eliminating facial wrinkles. You might look young and dazzling during that dinner date, but rest assured your wrinkles will be back tomorrow morning when you wake up.
Are You Looking For a Way to Earn Passive Income
Without Having to Recruit?
This one is pretty glaring. The false claims of the products curing certain diseases or conditions is something that has gotten a lot of MLMs in trouble. Such exaggerations would make anyone skeptical about joining the company.
The other problem I see is the ruthless and cut-throat competition within MLM companies that are in the health and wellness industry. Jeunesse is just one of the many other companies selling anti-aging portions.
My take is to live a healthy life, eat right, sleep well and do lots of exercises. It’s still not a guarantee that you will not fall sick or die, but portions alone cannot stop you from aging.
Most people go about life without really worrying about aging. As they say, age ain’t nothin’ but a number.
Is LifeVantage a Scam?
As long as a company has a solid product or service behind it, you cannot brand it a scam.
Scams, particularly pyramid schemes, tend to take money out of your pocket using deceptive means. In most cases, they sell you an endless story of investing your money in nothing to grow your money. We all know that money does not grow on trees.
LifeVantage is not a scam. I would certainly be cautious investing my money due to its dodgy claims.
There is a narrative that network marketing companies use and that is to pitch their products as magical or the next big thing. Until I see proof, I am not buying into it. Aging is not something you can exactly stop or even reverse.
I have been involved in network marketing before and I know how the game plays out. Network marketing by its very nature is a legit way of doing business and people succeed big time in it.
There are however so many half-truths that new recruits are exposed to that it makes it hard for one to have full confidence in the business. A common line that is always used is that it is easy to get into since you only need to buy a starter pack and you are in business.
Problem is, your costs will soon add up pretty fast once you start buying different packages just to stay in the business.
Perhaps the biggest red flag to MLMs is recruiting. Seldom do people even talk about the products. That’s because no one makes money just by selling products. Are you ready to start hitting on your friends, colleagues, and relatives in an effort to convince them to buy your products?
If you are, good luck with that.
Can you build a business without recruiting
Many people who become successful online marketers have probably been through some sort of multi-level marketing. In the years I have been in the marketing industry I have come to learn that the only way you can make money selling products is by having your own website.
In fact, you don’t even need to own the products to earn commissions with a website. And neither do you need to spend money to own one.
Why run around chasing after people to join your opportunity and yet you can reach the billions of people who are connected on the internet today.
If you belong to the 99% of the people trying desperately to make money recruiting people to their business, how about you check out how I make money online without having to recruit.
MLMs are a waste of time. You really need to ask yourself whether you stand a chance to make money. If you feel you have what it takes then, by all means, go for it. If you don’t, just remember there are many options out there.
