Hi and welcome to my Plexus review. I would imagine you are here because you might be thinking of becoming a distributor with this company. Or maybe you are already in and just want to learn a bit more in regards to the business side of it.
First I must say its good that you are doing your research. The last thing you want to do is invest your hard-earned money in a business opportunity only for you to end up frustrated.
What is Plexus all about and can you make some good money with this business? Well, let’s find out, shall we?
- Company Name: Plexus
- Website: plexusworldwide.com
- Costs: $34.95
- Founder: Tarl Robinson
- Rating: 5/10
What is Plexus?
There are millions of people around the world that struggle with achieving weight loss. Being overweight does indeed pose a series of serious health problems like diabetes and heart disease.
Are there custom-made solutions that can help you lose weight?
Plexus is just one among a myriad of multi-level companies that claim to have the ultimate supplements that can help you shed off those extra pounds.
Founded in 2006 by Tarl Robinson, the company sells weight loss and diet products through independent consultants. The company experienced rapid growth taking in $561 million in revenue, as of 2017.
They have also had a fair share of controversy which we will talk about later.
They operate in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico
Plexus is accredited and has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. They are based out of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Plexus has an impressive collection of products in their catalog. Within the weight loss category alone they have 18 different products. They also have products in nutrition, skincare, and personal care.
The company’s flagship product is t called “Pink Drink” because of its color. The official name of this product is called “Plexus Slim”
They do claim that the product is “clinically tested” but there’s no official proof given.
The drink contains Alpha Lipoic Acid, Chromium, Green Coffee Bean Extract, Garcinia Cambogia Extract, and Beet extract.
Here are some of the other products that you can buy;
- Plexus Boost – An alternative to Accelerator to be used in conjunction with Plexus Slim.
- MegaX – Supplement containing several omega fatty acids.
- XFactor – A multivitamin and antioxidant supplement.

Plexus’ products are non-GMO, 100% vegetarian, and gluten-free, wherever possible.
How does Plexus work
To get in on the action you need to pay a fee of $34.95. That makes you an Associate
However, if you want to start making money you will need to buy the Welcome Pack, which costs either $99 or a bigger pack for $199. That gives you the status of Ambassador.
Plexus gives its Ambassadors their own website to help them run their business.
Basically, there are two main ways one can generate an income with Plexus.
- Earn commissions through retail product sales.
- Earn commissions when those who join under you and recruit other new members.
That is just how most MLMs work. Number 2 is where the real money lies. If you can build a large team below you, you can expect to start making some good income. There are also bonus rewards that are paid depending on how large your team is.
To maintain an active status you have to commit to a $100 per month auto-ship program. That means buying or selling products worth $100.

Can you make money with Plexus
I believe if you have the right skill set and most importantly, mindset, you can make money with Plexus.
There are people who claim that the company has great products that have helped in improving their health. These people are bound to keep buying and as long as they are active you will make money.
That being said, the harsh reality when it comes to making money with not just Plexus but most network marketing companies is that it’s not as easy as a lot of people are lead to believe. People don’t like being sold stuff and most people suck at making sales.
It seems like, with MLMs, old ways are hard to die. It’s all about recruiting friends, family, and total strangers.
There are also a few positive reviews about the product so I guess it works for some. And of course, like I mentioned one can make money with this opportunity.
Reviews are mixed. Some people say the products work great while others have had a fair share of complaints
As a company, they have recorded impressive growth since its inception. They are on course to become one of the largest MLMs in the industry.
Are You Looking For a Way to Earn Passive Income
Without Having to Recruit?
One of the most common and perhaps alarming complaints I have heard is people suffering from serious side-effects. Some of them include heartburn, stomach upsets nervousness, and anxiety.
Like most health-based MLMs, they’ve made unsubstantiated claims in the past of being able to treat, cure, alleviate the symptoms of, prevent, or reduce the risk of developing diseases and disorders in an effort to grow quickly. Thay received a warning from the FDA and the Environmental Research Center. They have since toned down.
There are heaps of complaints on the BBB.org website mostly regarding the company’s products and services.
Is Plexus a Scam?
From a business standpoint, I wouldn’t call them a scam.
A lot of people are skeptical about joining MLMs due to the recruiting nature of the business. As long as a company has a product or service behind it, you cannot brand it a scam.
Scams, particularly pyramid schemes, tend to take money out of your pocket using deceptive means. In most cases, they sell you an endless story of investing your money in nothing to grow your money. We all know that money does not grow on trees.
The part that gives me goosebumps is the products and services. When a company has so many complaints leveled against them, it lowers their credibility.
Personally, I think losing weight takes more self-discipline than taking supplements. You cant take supplements, then eat a cheeseburger with fries and expect to lose weight. Exercise is probably the most effective way to lose weight. You don’t have to pay a fortune to be in good shape.
I would tread very carefully before thinking of joining Plexus
To most, it’s not a very viable option to grow a business.
I was a former network marketer and aside from being a real pain to everyone I approached to join my business I spent a lot of money and never got to recruit even one person.
I might have approached over 300 people. Some of them were clearly not happy about it.
Recruiting is very intrusive. Most people will feel like you are taking advantage of the relationship you have with them
I had to face the facts. Was I really building a business or was I just helping someone else make their money?
Truth be told you are not really running a business. The people running the business are the people whose products or services you are selling. They dictate what you sell, price, and what you make for it. If you owned the business, you would have a say in that.
When you look at what it entails to host your friends, drive for appointments, attend meetings, etc you will agree that it doesn’t tally with what you will be making. All that talk about the business is easy and how anyone can do it is nothing but hot air.
The fact is, most people suck at selling.
According to this article on Wikipedia, over 99% of people who join MLM companies lose money. That is a big number.
If you are just joining Plexus or thinking of joining ask yourself whether you really stand a chance at success. I hate to burst your bubble but the odds are heavily against you.
Are there better alternatives to Plexus?
I would say one of the most effective and long term ways to make money selling products or services is through your own website.
You don’t even need to own the products to earn commissions with a website.
Neither do you need to recruit people to your business. People need to come to you. how about you check out how I make money online without having to recruit.
No need to run around chasing after people to join your opportunity. There are billions of people connected on the internet today. You just need to put yourself in front of that audience.
This review is by no means meant to discourage you from joining or staying on with Plexus. If you feel you have what it takes then, by all means, go for it. If you don’t, just remember to keep your options open.
Many thanks for reading my review. If you have a question or a comment on the Plexus business opportunity, please leave it below. I would love to hear from you.
Please feel free to share.
