So just what is Mannatech all about and can you make some good money with this opportunity? Well, let’s find out, shall we?

  • Founders: Samuel Caster
  • Price: $49.99

What is Mannatech all about?

Mannatech is a publicly-traded, multinational multi-level marketing firm that sells dietary supplements and personal care products.

Just in case you are wondering what the heck is manna, it’s the same one found in the bible, manna from heaven. Mannatech has a Christian orientation and initially, was marketed through church congregations. Its entire marketing structure was based on evoking manna.

The company was founded by Samuel Caster in 1993.

They also run the M5M Foundation which helps provide vital nutrients to malnourished children across the world.

Mannatech has had its fair share of controversy and lawsuits. At one time, they came up with unproven claims that their products could be used to treat many diseases and conditions, including cancer, diabetes, autism, and AIDS.

In 2004, neurosurgeon and conservative politician Ben Carson made videos and spoke at company events promoting Mannatech and its products. In 2004, in a speech at a Mannatech event, he credited the company’s products with the disappearance of his cancer symptoms. He later denied any involvement with the company.

Mannatech products

Is Mannatech a Scam - productsThe base ingredient within Mannatech’s product range “Ambrotose” which contains sugars derived from plants. They are basically sugar pills and powders made from glyconutrients which is said to support cellular communication within the body.

Mannatech has an impressive collection of products that fall under the following categories

  • Immune
  • Mood
  • Heart
  • Energy
  • Sleep
  • Stress

At the time of writing these, they have 74 different products in their catalog. All products that exceed $100 come with free shipping.

The Mannatech Opportunity

Like most MLM opportunities, there basically 2 ways one can earn money with the business.

  1. Commissions paid from retail sales.
  2. Commissions earned when you recruit others to join the business.

Number 2 is of course where the real money is. When you build a huge team below you you can start earning a neat income.

To become a distributor you will need to purchase a $49.99 yearly Associate Membership.

The membership fee is pretty reasonable but for you to start bringing in the money you will need to buy one of the 3 packages.

  • Basic Pack – $99-$169
  • All-Star Pack – $499
  • Premium All-Star Pack – $999

The higher up the package the more you can make in profits. Mannatech uses a uni-level compensation plan structure. Check out the video below to see how the entire plan works.

Pros

Mannatech is a public listed company so that goes to show that the company is credible. They also do have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau even though they are not accredited.

I haven’t used the products personally but according to most reviews, a lot of people agree that they have great products. It’s.

not hard to see why. They have over 100 patents and 17 human clinical trials that have been published.

I also believe that with the right skillset and mindset one can actually make money with this opportunity. Whether you are going to make money or not comes down to your own efforts. The reality of making money with MLMs is however always not as easy as a lot of people are lead to believe.

Without Having to Recruit?

Cons

One of the most openly glaring downside to the Mannatech business opportunity is the numerous lawsuits that the company has gone through over the years. It becomes hard to convince people to join a business that has had legal issues.

I also think the prices are a bit on the higher side. I am sure you can get similar products, more or less, for less.

Generally speaking, this is the recruiting business. Nobody wants to be sold stuff, especially when there is an ulterior motive behind the sale.

Is Mannatech a Scam?

Absolutely not. Despite Mannatechs rocky past, I would say they are a legit business. The company has been around since 1993. If they were a scam, they would have been shut down ages ago.

As long as a company has a solid product behind it, you can’t brand it as a scam. Pyramid and Ponzi schemes operate by getting people to invest their money on non- existent products. Those who come at the top make money while those who join later end up losing everything. Casualties are usually high and the top brass end up pocketing everything before the entire plot collapses.

Wrap up

In most cases, all you have is the word of your upline who might not be as qualified in selling products as you may think.

Opinion is always divided as to whether this sort of businesses are scams or not. I suppose it all comes down to who is making money and who is not. Most people who don’t make it will be crying foul while those who succeed will be accusing the losers of lacking the patience to grow the business.

I have been involved in network marketing before and I know how the game plays out. Network marketing by its very nature is a legit way of doing business and people succeed big time in it. In fact, there are millionaires in the industry.

There are however so many half-truths that new recruits are exposed to that it makes it hard for one to have full confidence in the business. A common line that is always used is that it is easy to get into since you only need to buy a starter pack and you are in business.

Problem is, your costs will soon add up pretty fast once you start buying different packages just to stay in the business.

Perhaps the biggest red flag to MLMs is recruiting. Seldom do people even talk about the products. That’s because no one makes money just by selling products. Are you ready to start hitting on your friends, colleagues, and relatives in an effort to convince them to buy your products?

Can you build a business without recruiting

Many people who become successful online marketers have probably been through some sort of multi-level marketing. In the years I have been in the marketing industry I have come to learn that the only way you can make money selling products is by having your own website.

In fact, you don’t even need to own the products to earn commissions with a website.  And neither do you need to spend money to own one.

Why run around chasing after people to join your opportunity and yet you can reach the billions of people who are connected on the internet today.

If you belong to the 99% of the people trying desperately to make money recruiting people to their business, how about you check out how I make money online without having to recruit.

MLMs are a waste of time. You really need to ask yourself whether you stand a chance to make money. If you feel you have what it takes then, by all means, go for it. If you don’t, just remember there are many options out there.

Many thanks for reading my review. If you have a question or a comment on the Mannatech business opportunity, please leave it below. I would love to hear from you.
