Is Ariix a Scam?

Is Ariix a Scam - featured imageHi and welcome to my Ariix review. You are probably here to find out about the business opportunity. Or perhaps you are already in the game and just want to learn more about business.

May I first start by stating that I am not a distributor with Ariix and so I am not going to be asking you to whip out your credit card for your dream to success.

This review is based on my own research and the aim is to help you make an independent decision on whether to join, stay on or bailout. The decision is entirely up to you.

So just what is the Ariix business opportunity and can you make some good money?

Well, let’s find out, shall we?

  • Company Name: Ariix
  • Website: ariix.com
  • Owners: Mark Wilson, Deanna Latson, Dr. Fred W. Cooper, Riley Timmer, and Jeff Yates
  • Cost: Starting at $294.95

What is Ariix

The world of multi-level marketing is flooded with companies selling products, especially in the health and wellness industry. Ariix is one such company.

Founded in 2011 by Mark Wilson, Deanna Latson, Dr. Fred W. Cooper, Riley Timmer, and Jeff Yates, Ariix sells dietary supplements, personal care, weight loss products through independent distributors.

It is worth mentioning that the founders were former executives with Usana, another top MLM company.

Ariix is based out of Bountiful, Utah. They are accredited with the Better Business Bureau and have an A+ rating

Ariix also offers loyalty rewards in shopping, travel, jewelry and medical.

To get started with Ariix, you will need to purchase one of the 9 different enrollment packs. They don’t come cheap with the basic pack going for $294.95 to a cool $2098 at the top level.

The higher up the level you purchase the more you can expect to make.

There is also a $25 yearly fee. To be an active member you also have to spend $150 per month in product purchases.

Like most MLMs, there are 2 main ways you can make money with Ariix.

  1. Earning commissions on retail sales of the products.
  2. Recruiting others and earning commissions when they become active members.

Number 2 is where the money lies. The larger your team the more chances you have to make money.

Unlike most MLMs that use either a uni-level or binary level compensation plan, Ariix uses a multi-line called the active 8.

To get a more detailed account of the compensation plan check the video below.

Can you make money with Ariix?

I believe you can make money with this opportunity if you have the right skill set. To achieve this, you will need to approach as many people as you can and hope that those who join will stay active in the business. That is often easier said than done. People generally dont like being sold stuff and so your chances of making money with this opportunity are slim.

If you take a look at the income disclosure statement below, you will notice that majority of people (90%) make between $70 and $275 per week.

Pros

The unique compensation plan is great given that it focusses on length and width of your team. I think you stand to make more money this way.

I haven’t used any of their products, but I am yet to see complaints on the quality, so it’s safe to assume they have great products.

They also offer great training, support and coaching to new members. The training costs $29.95.

I also like the fact that they offer adjustments in commissions as per the cost of living. These adjustments are meant to go with the rate of inflation and are reviewed yearly

Without Having to Recruit?

Cons

There are perhaps hundreds of MLM companies selling health and wellness products out there. This is a highly competitive industry and so you might have a hard time selling your products.

The company is in competition with old-timers like Amway and Avon. Even though this might offer a slight advantage, you are still selling products in a highly saturated market.

The biggest downside is the recruiting bit. The business model, like most MLMs have little to do with the product. I mean, you can find similar products in local stores for less the price.

Is Ariix a Scam?

Absolutely not. Some people tend to classify MLMs as pyramid schemes due to the recruiting nature of the business. As long as a company has a solid product behind it, then you cannot brand it as a scam.

Ariix has been around for 9 years at the time of writing this. If they were a scam they would have been shut down ages ago.

Wrap up

The last time I was approached by a guy selling an MLM opportunity to me, I knew him from the time he asked me the BIG question

Have you ever thought of a way of supplementing your income by going into business?

He completely refused to tell me what he was selling and only insisted that I join him for a meeting that same evening. I was smiling.

The guy was a total stranger to me. Does that not hit you as odd?

Before going into online marketing, I was involved in network marketing.

I think I might have approached over 200 people with the opportunity. Some of my friends did not take that very well. Needless to say, I never got a single downline or sale. Can you imagine 200 people coming to your store and not buying a single item? That just sucks. The numbers didn’t add up and that is why I left.

According to this article on Wikipedia, less than 1% of all people who join multi-level marketing businesses make little to no money. Majority just sit on the sidelines hoping to make something.

Truth be told you are not really running a business. The people running the business are the people whose products you are selling. They dictate what you sell, price and what you make for it. If you owned the business, you would have a say in that.

At the very end of it, you are just an overrated salesperson.

Are there alternatives to Ariix?

That is a resounding YES!

There many places online like Swagbucks where you can make some side cash doing surveys. Another great place is Fiverr where you can post jobs and bid for them.

I would say one of the most effective and long term ways to make money way you can make money selling products or services is through your own website.

You don’t even need to own the products to earn commissions with a website.

Neither do you need to recruit people to your business. People need to come to you. how about you check out how I make money online without having to recruit.

Why run around chasing after people to join your opportunity and yet you can reach the billions of people who are connected on the internet today. 4.48 billion people to be precise at the time of writing this article and growing by the day.

MLMs are a waste of time. You really need to ask yourself whether you stand a chance to make money. If you feel you have what it takes then, by all means, go for it. If you don’t, just remember the are many other alternatives.

Many thanks for reading my review. If you have a question or a comment on the Ariix business opportunity, please leave it below. I would love to hear from you.

Please feel free to share.
